Norwich Union's Immediate Care Plan

Care services plans can provide the care you require whether it is administered in your own home or residential/nursing home.

If you do want to move to either a residential or nursing home the Norwich Union Care bureau will provide you with a Homefinder service which will help you select a good quality home which will provide the right environment for you. The Care bureau will provide you with much of the information you need, to suit your individual needs, whether you want to stay in your own home or move into a retirement home.

The Care bureau can also put you in contact with a company, who we have quality checked, who can provide a Home maintenance service. this service will provide help with house and garden maintenance.

The Care bureau can also put you in contact with a supplier of Assistive devices, e.g.. wheelchairs, to enable you to maintain your quality of life.

Norwich Union commissioned a comprehensive study into public attitudes towards long term care.

One of the key findings was that people did not necessarily want cash benefits when they made a claim on a long term care plan. instead they wanted care provided for them automatically rather than having to go and buy it themselves.

It was also found that people wanted:

• Peace of mind
• The power of choice
• Care tailored to their individual needs
• To keep their independence as well as wanting to preserve their assets, but they didn't want to be a burden on their family.

The Immediate Care plan is designed to assist you in selecting a home that meets your individual needs, or to enable you to stay in your own home

Norwich Union have appointed a number of residential/nursing homes as preferred homes. Whilst that home has a preferred status we will monitor the quality of that home, and the service provided by it. The residential/nursing home service will also supply a step by step guide to help you plan your move to a home.

As we get older, some of the things we take for granted such as washing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility or transferring become more difficult.
When these tasks become more difficult to perform it can be a stressful time for you and your family to select care service providers to assist you in these daily functions. The Immediate Care plan will provide help and information and organise whatever daily care you need.

Norwich Union have reviewed the major care service providers and selected those that we believe are best suited to provide the services needed to maintain your quality of life.

From this selection process they have produced a comprehensive care services package which, if you choose, will enable you to stay in your own home.
